As a result of the bush fires in November 2019, Wild Drake bridge over Blaxland Creek suffered extensive damage to the northern abutments. While it remained open to vehicles, the damage forced a 3 tonne weight limit to be imposed. The entire abutment and span was rebuilt and the road approach reformed.
When completed the repairs required inspection of not only PWA and the client but also Clarence Valley Council as this is an asset that will be handed over once all works are completed along Blaxland Creek
