Forestry Corporation NSW required a quick replacement of a damaged bridge near Cascade (north of Dorrigo) to allow continuation of logging operations in the area. Coastal Works were able to offer a quick and relatively cheap option with the construction of a ‘hybrid’ bridge.

The sub structure is concrete with the abutments bolted to the high level rock then timber girders and deck are constructed as the superstructure. The new bridge is more than capable of accepting T44 loadings. If required at a later date, the abutments are ready to accept a steel and concrete deck.
