Coastal Works was engaged by Public Works Advisory to undertake road and slip repairs to two road section on Darkwood Road, Thora. The work was funded under NDRRA. The two section were

  • 14 km from the intersection with Waterfall Way and involved the repair of 200 metres of sealed road that had been destroyed by flooding and rain
  • 24 km from the intersection with Waterfall Way and involved repairs to an uphill slip and gravel resheeting of a 600 metres section of road.

Logistical problems included the delivery of roadbase materials along narrow road and over weight limited bridges. The works were completed under budget and earlier than the anticipated completion date.

The works were conducted three months ahead of schedule and well under the client’s budget.
