Coffs Harbour Bypass Service Relocations – Coramba Interchange

Cost: $4M

Contractor: Coastal Works

Client: Transport for NSW

Client Referee: Matt Brown

Coastal Works, as the local water authority has commenced relocation of water and sewer mains to allow for the construction of the Coffs Harbour Bypass. The first location is in the vicinity of the proposed Coramba Road Interchange. The water mains are to only supply from the Karangi water treatment plant and service all residents on the coast within the Coffs Harbour City Council area.

To ensure that the 250 metres of new mains are maintenance free once the bypass is complete, this location will require the ductile iron pipes to be encased in over 3,000 cubic metres of concrete. Before the road pavement is constructed, there will be about 9 metres of general fill placed over the pipes and concrete.
