Cook Drive, Coffs Harbour Intersection Upgrade

Cost: $8.5M

Contractor: Coastal Works

Client: Roads and Maritime Services (RMS)

Client Referee: Shane Green
North Coast Regional Projects Manager

Coastal Works constructed the Cook Drive Intersection Upgrade between February and November 2014. The Works included the construction of a new section of road, drainage, installation of traffic signals (in different configurations as the work progressed), footpath and cycleway construction, median installation, spray seal and asphalt works, linemarking, major electrical relocations, street lighting and landscaping.

The construction drew in the work crews, plant and equipment from all areas of Council working together to reform this intersection – which had previously caused traffic chaos in the centre of Coffs Harbour.
The works were conducted three months ahead of schedule and well under the client’s budget.
